Laura longed to come and visit her sister Mamie here at the Manor, but it was a long journey from Lawn, PA to Conewago Station. The roads were rough and the only means of transportation was a spring wagon. Although they were few, reunions at the Manor were a joyous time for all.
Laura was one of many children in the Lehman family. She lived her younger years as a hired house and farm hand at a neighboring farm. Laura loved life, her family, and delighted in crocheting and raising her flowers. She taught by example and was always there to lend a helping hand. Innkeeper Laura Murphy is her granddaughter and namesake. In her tradition, we want you to know that we are here to lend a hand and make your stay as enjoyable as possible. This guest room shares a balcony with Emma’s Attic.
